This is the biggest oasis in Israel. It is located along the western shore of the Dead Sea.

This spring provides freshwater for agriculture in that area.
This might be the water where David (and his men) drank from when he fled from Saul.
Read Bible 1 Samuel 23:29
29 And David went up from there and lived in the strongholds of En Gedi.

"En Gedi" literally means “the spring of the kid (goat).” It is evident that wild goats have always lived in this place.
Read Bible 1 Samuel 24:1-2
1 After Saul returned from pursuing the Philistines, he was told, “David is in the Desert of En Gedi.”
2 So Saul took three thousand able young men from all Israel and set out to look for David and his men near the Crags of the Wild Goats.
